Jennifer is well-versed in a variety of modalities including Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular, Prenatal/Pregnancy, Swedish, Sports/Performance and Hot Stone Therapy. These modalities are described below.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)/Fibromyalgia (FMS) - Those suffering from these two illnesses share similar symptoms which may include muscle pain, headaches, sore throat, unexplained fatigue, sleep disturbance, blurred vision, dizziness, anxiety and panic attacks. Massage has been found to reduce symptoms of pain, stiffness, anxiety, depression and fatigue for individuals with these conditions.

Deep Tissue - This modality focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue and fascia. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes, deep finger pressure and friction. It also helps to reduce and eliminate scar tissue.

Myofascial Release - Myofascial release is the application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system in order to eliminate fascial restrictions. Myofascial release is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of cervical pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, neurological dysfunction, restriction of motion, chronic pain and headaches.

Neuromuscular - This soft-tissue manipulation balances the body's central nervous system and musculoskeletal system. Based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system initiates and maintains pain, neuromuscular therapy is used to locate and release spasms, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, improve circulation and restore postural alignment.

Prenatal/Pregnancy - Specific techniques can ease pregnancy discomforts, reduce anxiety and enhance the physiological and emotional well-being of both mother and fetus. Pre-Natal massage is also designed to help with low back pain, leg cramps, sciatica, neck & shoulder pain.

Swedish - Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The many benefits may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions and improved circulation.

Sports/Performance - Designed to reduce injuries, alleviate inflammation, provide warm-up, etc. for amateur and professional athletes before, during, and after their training regimens.

Hot Stone - Massage applied with the use of heated river rocks to warm the tissues, increase circulation, and promote deep relaxation. This technique that has been used by American Indians for thousands of years.
